Differences between the MSDE downloads?

Hi,
We have multinational customers who run our software against MSDE which we
ship. The MSDE we ship is MSDE 200 Rel A, as downloaded from the English
link.
Whats the difference between the English and Japanese version in terms of
configuration? Our Japanese customers are running the English install of
MSDE 2000 Rel A on their Japanese OS's, and we are getting rare occurrences
of an error when running a SQL script. However, I'm not seeing any reason
for the error as the script runs fine everywhere else.
Should the Japanese customers be running their own native version of MSDE
rather than English on their OS?
Thx,
Paul
underprocessable|||Andrea,
Thats what I thought.
The error being reported by the customer is (translated from Japanese)
COUNT Field Incorrect or program error - which I believe is actually
COUNT Field Incorrect or syntax error
Now, I've looked at this error and the SQL, and there is nothing I can see
that would trigger it.

Ok... I have found the problem...
Having fudged my way through a Japanese installation, and trying to to run
the script...
If I open the script in QA, I immediately see an extended character in this
case an O with an umlaut. On Japanese, this is interpreted incorrectly in
conjunction with the ' as something else. If QA opens the file as unicode,
then its processed properly. This was what I kinda suspected so I'll try
to open the file as unicode with the impot.
