Differential data backup sql2k
Hi, all
I am trying to do the data differential databackup daily and full backup
during the weekend.
Log shipping remain the same as usual.
There is anything that I should be aware of before I chnage the backup
method.
It takes too long to have full data backup every night.
Thanks,
Diff backup of the source database does not affect log shipping in any way. So, just make sure you
have thought about disaster recovery, number of backup generations and that you understand the
concept of database, diff and transaction log backups (which are pretty simple).

Different SQL server 2000 editions
Hi all
I am just wondering, will there be any issues if i use different SQL server
editions in different environments for an application that requires a
database? Meaning, this application that i hv writes to a database, and
there are 2 environments for this application, i.e. Production and SIT/UAT.
Each environment will hv 1 SQL server, but the question is, since the SIT/UA
T
environment is only for use by a few users, can i deploy SQL Server std
edition in this environment while the prod environment, we install the
Enterprise edition?
ThanxYes , you can do so.
We also follow the same startegy , if users are few and no logshipping
and replication requried you can use standard edition, that savings,
you can spend more on your prod environment.|||Actually, I use the Developer Edition for this since I get the full
functionality of the Enterprise Edition with some minor restrictions.

Differences between June and September CTP releases
Hey y'all
I read in post in this forum that there have been changes in syntax and what not between the June and September CTP releases. Is there a list, document or webpage that spells out the differences between the two releases?
Thanks
I did a survey of the dev team and they're reasonably sure there were no user-visible changes between the June and September CTP's - primarily bug fixes and perf tuning..|||Thanks
So to clarify June CTP release is Beta 2 or 3?
and September CTP release is .... what?
