Directing batch pring jobs to a remote printer
Directing batch pring jobs to a remote printer
Has anyone tried directing batch sql reporting services print jobs to a remote printer? Any tips on how to do this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John
Direct Printing
we have a Windows Application in .Net.
Now we want to use Reporting Services. That is no problem.
But how we can print direct on a client pc?Hi sqlhaas,
You can do this by installing a new printer extension for RS. Take a look
at this article (under Yesterday's QOD):

diploying reports on browser with custom assembly
Hi friends,
We are using SQL Server Reportin Services 2005 (SSRS) for development of our reports instead of Crystal Reports. As per our clients requirement we want to make all reports dynamic eg. whatever background color user select should appear for that report etc etc.
So for this we have written one function and created DLL for that. Now we are refering that DLL in all our reports as Assembly Name in Reports \ Report Properties \ Referance. We have stored that DLL at two different locations also
C:\Program Files \Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies
so when we run our reports from Preview tab DLL is just wroking fine.
Then added the permission code in rspolicy.config file as follows,
<CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup"
version="1"
PermissionSetName="FullTrust"
Name="MyNewCodeGroup"
Description="A special code group for my custom assembly.">
<IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition"
version="1"
Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\MyAssembly.dll"/>
</CodeGroup>
But when we deploy all our report on Brwoser and when we try to execute them from browser DLL is now working i.e no function value is working. only normal report without styleing is coming.
So can anyone help me out coz this is very argent
any help will be greatly appreciated
Custom assemblies always run with Full Trust in designer preview, so it's not suprising the code works there.
It's likely that you placed your codegroup in the wrong place inside the rssrvpolicy file...here's a blog post on same:
http://blogs.msdn.com/bimusings/archive/2005/06/16/429795.aspx
The info around "placement" in the policy file is still valid even though this post is about SSRS 2000
|||hi Russell,
thx for help,
but whatever suggetions u hv told I have implement them.
ie changing the posting of full trust in *policy.config files ,
placing the DLL in Report Desinger folder etc etc but still no luck
I still cant see the effect of my DLL on browser.
are there any changes require to be done in Reporting Services Configurations ?
one thing I want to tell you is that while installing the Reporting Services I have given the Path in D folder and not C folder so , my 80 tools folder now is in C folder and 90 tools folder in D folder so because of this anything is going wrong ?
plz help me out if u can
sandeep
|||Hey Sandeep --
What I was saying in my earlier post is that it doesn't matter if you put the "new" code group into the *.policy.config file if you place it in the wrong area of the file (or is this what you mean when you used the world "posting").
You have to put the code group in just the right spot for it to be used...If you put it in the wrong place, no errors will alert you that you've done something wrong, but your assembly won't get FullTrust, and therefore fail to execute.
|||hi russell,
as u said in ur first post I have pasted my code in the place where u hv mensioned as followes
// Your Stuff goes here….
</CodeGroup>
</CodeGroup>
</PolicyLevel>
but still its not working
is there anything that we need to do with Report Server Confirguration ?
plz guide me
sandeep
|||I've put my code-groub just below
<CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1"

</CodeGroup>′
I think I've seen this "position-advice" somewhere in the docs but I can't find it any more ;(
[edit] found it: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ms152828(SQL.90).aspx
Are you sure the path is correct?! In you very first post you wrote
..

I can't see the MSSQL.3 anywhere in your URL
Have you looked at the log-files?|||I have added the code group as follows,

and location is also same as u hv mentioned
but still I cant see the reports on browser
so where exactly I am going wrong ?
plz help me
sandeep
|||Have you looked at the Logfiles? You should find them here:D:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\LogFiles
In my case I included system.data.oracleclient in my dll wich didn't work as long as I didn't call the assert method of OraclePermissions..
So the logfiles should give a hint of whats going wrong..

hi binny,
i hv deployed ones again. and saw reports on browser still it is shwing without DLL effect so i checked all log files. but they all are old log files and no related information is there

Dimensional Modelling and Userbased Reporting
We are using SSAS 2005 for the cubes and reports will be created in Reporting Services as well as Proclarity Desktop Professional (all using windows integrated authentication). The reports will be displayed using a Sharepoint portal, again using the windows integrated authentication.
We have a Fact Table like FactRevenues which has revenueamount and a few other measures.
It is linked to 2 Dimension tables - DimProjects and DimCustomers through ProjectCode and CustomerCode.
DimProjects contains 2 dimension fields (apart from many others) - ProjectMgr and ProjectDir.
Similarly DimCustomers contains 3 fields - AccountMgr,AccountDir and EngagementDir.
We have an User Dimension which is the referenced dimension. DimUser contains UserID and other details of the user. We store the NT login(or at least something from which NT login can be obtained) in the UserID.
The five fields mentioned above - ProjectMgr, ProjectDir,AccountMgr, AccountDir and EngagementDir stores the UserID and are linked to the UserID in the User Dimension.
We have created hierarchies/pseudo dimensions which link like RevenueFact-ProjectMgr-User, RevenueFact-ProjectDir-User, RevenueFact-AccountMgr-User,RevenueFact-AccountDir-User and RevenueFact-EngagementDir-User. So, for the MDX expression we can use these to check against the logged in User.
The Problem:
Our requirement is, the person logged in should be able to see only the details (measure values) that are relevant to him/her. Basically, the aggregate of RevenueAmount should be done based on the following conditions:
If the logged in user is a Project Manager for some projects, then the person should only be able to see the aggregated measure for the projects for which he/she is the manager (checked from the ProjectMgr field). Similarly for ProjectDir.
If the logged in user is an Account Manager for some clients, then the person should only be able to see the aggregated measure for the clients that he/she handles (checked from the AccountMgrfield). Similarly for AccountDir and EngagementDir.
There are possibilities, though remote, that a single person can be AccountDir as well as ProjectDir. Basically, the system should support the possiblity for a person to be in any combination of the five fields. This shouldn't be an issue as this will be taken care of automatically once we set up the dynamic dimension security for each of these dimensions.
There will a different set of users - SuperUser/Admins - who will be able to view all the details without any restrictions. We HAVE NO ISSUES WITH THIS AS we created a role specifically for Admins without any restrictions and a role for others (everyone) which will be applied with the dynamic dimension security.
What we tried:
We have actually gone through the links that you have sent earlier, when we were trying to solve the issue. But it seems like we are missing some small thing.
Our MDX for dimension security
Filter( [DIMIRLINE -IR FORM REF NO - IR H CUST - ACCOUNT MGR].[DIMUSERS].[DIMUSERS] = UserName)
UserName supposedly being the function for obtaining the currently logged in user.
But this didn’t seem to restrict the users.
Your syntax for the filter function does not look correct. You need to pass it a set and then the criteria with which to filter that set. I would expect to see something more like the following:
Filter(
[DIMIRLINE -IR FORM REF NO - IR H CUST - ACCOUNT MGR].[DIMUSERS].[DIMUSERS].members
, [DIMIRLINE -IR FORM REF NO - IR H CUST - ACCOUNT MGR].[DIMUSERS].[DIMUSERS].CurrentMember.Name = UserName()
)
|||
This following is the table I created through SSAS browser having UserID,EGName and Mothwisesales Column
where USerID is the member of [Account Mgr].[UsersID] Attribute
I want to show the only row when perticalur User LogsIn(NTlogin) insted of showing the details of all User.He should see only his details(I want to restrict this in Cube level rather on SSRS/Proclarity).
I created a Hierachy i.e UserHierachy -->Role->UserID
Role attribute always contains{User,Manager}.If UserID is belongs to User Role He ll be see only his details from NTLogin and if UserID is belongs to ManagerRole He ll be see all the userdetails.
Please help me regarding this.
Thank u
with regards

Dimension in Analysis Services 2005
How must I make if I want concat two fields of a database in a level of a
dimension in Analysis Services 2005?
Sample : id_Collaborator(10) and Name(Gates) give 10_Gates
Thanks for your help!!
Nico
I generally create a view on the table which concatinates the fields, so
there is nothing to do in Analysis Services... HOwever you may go to
properties at the bottom left of the dimension editor and use a SQL
Expression to concatinate the fields there as well.. Take a look at some of
the data fields in the time dimension, and you should see an example..

Dimension Hierarchy members processed incorrectly
I have an interesting problem with Analysis Services that I was able to resolve (sort of), but I would appreciate some feedback to see if this is known behavior, a bug, or if I'm just setting up my dimension incorrectly.
Basically, the intermediate members of a hierarchy are showing up incorrectly in my date dimension. For example, when I browse the dimension, I'll end up with a tree that looks like this:
All CY
- CY 1998
- Qtr 1 CY 1998
- January 1998
- Jan 1, 1998
- Jan 2, 1998
- etc.
- .....
- .....
- CY 2005
- Qtr 1 CY 1998
- January 1998
- Jan 1, 2005
- Jan 2, 2005
- etc.
As you can see, the years are correct and the lowest element (date) is correct, but the names of the intermediate elements (quarter and month) are incorrect. These intermediate elements are the same for each calendar year (i.e. it's always 1998, which is the earliest year we have data for in the table).
I've included the table/hierarchy structure below for reference.
So the way that I (sort of) resolved the issue was by using the calculated name values as the keys for the attributes instead of using the integer-based keys that I was using. It seems that you can't/shouldn't have key values that repeat for different higher-level elements (i.e. the month_si value of "12" (December) is present in the table for rows from CY 1998, 1999, 2000, etc.). I'm guessing here, but it seems that when it went to build the hierarchy underneath, say, CY 2006, it found key values of "1","2","3", & "4" for [quarter_si] (correctly so). It then pulled the value from [Column15] for those key values, but instead of limiting itself to data underneath CY 2006, it looked at the whole table, and thus pulled the name values for those quarters from the first records in the table, which happened to be "Qtr 1 CY 1998","Qtr 2 CY 1998" and so on. But since "Qtr 1 CY 2006" is only present in CY 2006, using "Qtr 1 CY 2006" as the key and name value gave me the correct hierarchy.
Unfortunately, this resolution doesn't work because the keys won't order correctly (i.e. "June 2006" comes before "May 2006" under "Qtr 2 CY 2006") and this is a show-stopper.
What's odd is that I converted this dimension directly from SSAS 2000, and this was not a problem we encountered in 2000. Is this issue resulting from something new introduced in SSAS 2005? Is there a property flag that controls this behavior?
Or do I just not have a good understanding of how dimensions work? ;)
I would appreciate anyone's feedback or comments.
Thanks in advance,
Jamie C.
TABLE/DIMENSION/HIERARCHY INFO:
The underlying table used for the dimension is "dbo.dci_Date" - the structure of the table (including calculated columns within AS) is this:
[dbo].[dci_Date]
[date_id_si] [smallint] NOT NULL,
[year_si] [smallint] NOT NULL,
[quarter_si] [smallint] NOT NULL,
[month_si] [smallint] NOT NULL,
[date_sd] [smalldatetime] NULL,
The following "virtual" columns are also present as calculated columns - I've included the formulas for reference:
[Column4] [WChar] = left("date_sd",11)
[Column13] [WChar] = 'CY ' + convert(char,DatePart(year,"date_sd"))
[Column15] [WChar] = 'Qtr ' + convert(CHAR, DatePart(quarter,"date_sd")) + 'CY ' + convert(char,DatePart(year,"date_sd"))
[Column17] [WChar] = convert(CHAR, DateName(month,"date_sd")) + convert(char,DatePart(year,"date_sd"))
Here's an example of what a couple of rows from the table look like (including the values for the calculated columns) - I've included the min & max as well:
[date_id_si],[year_si],[quarter_si],[month_si],[date_sd],[Column4],[Column13],[Column15],[Column17]
-729,1998,1,1,1998-01-01 00:00:00Z,Jan 1 1998,CY 1998,Qtr 1 CY 1998,January 1998 ** MIN
2495,2006,4,10,2006-10-30 00:00:00Z,Oct 30 2006,CY 2006,Qtr 4 CY 2006,October 2006
2496,2006,4,10,2006-10-31 00:00:00Z,Oct 31 2006,CY 2006,Qtr 4 CY 2006,October 2006
2497,2006,4,11,2006-11-01 00:00:00Z,Nov 1 2006,CY 2006,Qtr 4 CY 2006,November 2006
4270,2011,3,9,2011-09-09 00:00:00Z,Sep 9 2011,CY 2011,Qtr 3 CY 2011,September 2011 ** MAX
The hierarchy for this dimension (Calendar Year) is built with the following attributes:
Year -- key: [year_si] name: [Column13]
Quarter -- key: [quarter_si] name: [Column15]
Month -- key: [month_si] name: [Column17]
Day -- key: [Column4] name: [Column4]
Hello. You must assure that each attribute in a dimensions has an unique key. Like month, if you represent this with a month number like 1 to 12, this is not unique over years. To solve this problem you simply go to the key property of the attribute and change that to a collection by adding each year to column. By clicking to button to the right for the key column you will see the "Data Item Collection editor".
I would recommed to use numbers or collections of numbers as keys for year, quarters and months. Change the name column to something for informative instead, like a text based description. Check that the attribute is ordered by key, not by name in the properties for each attribute.

Dimension as Parameter in Reporting Services
Hallo everyone:
I am using reporting services and I am looking for a way to define a parameter “dimension”.
The problem is that in Reporting services are available just the fields resulting from the mdx statement.
Using the following statement I can use the fields “value” and “Customer”
Select {[Measures].[value]} on 0, {[Customer].allmembers} on 1 From [Cube1]
I could solve it like this
Select {[Measures].[value]} on 0,
Iif(@.DimParameter = “Customer”,
{[Customer].allmembers} [Cube1],
{[Products].allmembers})
on 1 From
but the fields available would be “value” and “Customer” if the standard value of @.DimParameter is “Customer”
I also tried to create a set but I got the same results.
Is there a function in mdx that works like sql to define the names of the retrieved fields?
Select Customer as myDim Fom table1
Thanks
I tried to do that a while ago, and ended up creating a sproc in SQL Server that connects to Analysis Services using OPENQUERY.
Something like this:
create proc Example
@.dimension varchar(1000)
as
declare @.sql as varchar(8000)
declare @.mdx as varchar(2300)
set @.mdx = 'select {[Measures].[Unit Sales]} on columns, {##rows##} on rows from Sales'
set @.mdx = replace(@.mdx, '##rows##', @.dimension)
set @.sql ='SELECT * FROM OpenRowset(''MSOLAP.3'',''DATASOURCE=localhost; Initial Catalog=Foodmart 2000;'',
''' + @.mdx + ''')'
print @.sql
exec (@.sql)
If you're using SQL Server 2005 you'll need sp1 for this to work.
Hope this helps,
Santi

Many, Many Thanks!
I tried you’re example but I could not referred to the fields in the select statement.
Instead of using selec * I would like to do something like: select [Customer].[Name] as myDim.
I couldn’t achieved it. So I am creating a temporal table, inserting the results from the select statement and selecting the temporal table:
CREATE TABLE #t(Dimension varchar(100), Measure varchar(100))
INSERT INTO #t
exec(@.sql)
select * from #t
drop table #t
How did you manage it? Is there an easier way ?
|||I forgot to mention it, I also used a temporal table. Don′t know if there is an easier way, but since this works I'm happy with it.|||Hi
How do I have to configure the users security. In such a way that, they can access the report that uses the stored procedure with the openset function?
|||That could be a problem. In my case I filter users out with Reporting Services security, and then grant execute permissions to the stored procedure to Reporting Services.
|||How did you configure your users in the Data Base and in the Analysis Services. Because when I try the report i works fine. But when someone else try it, they cannot connect to AS. I have other reports that access AS and everyone can access them with any problem.
|||I have a Windows Group with the users. This group is added to the pertinent role in Analysis Services, and to the role in Reporting Services.
However, I have the RS Data Origin configured using Sql Server Security instead of Windows Security, saving the credentials in the Report server. Of course the Sql Server login must have the relevant permissions to execute the Stored Proc, and to create temporal tables.

Dimension as Parameter in Reporting Services
Hallo everyone:
I am using reporting services and I am looking for a way to define a parameter “dimension”.
The problem is that in Reporting services are available just the fields resulting from the mdx statement.
Using the following statement I can use the fields “value” and “Customer”
Select {[Measures].[value]} on 0, {[Customer].allmembers} on 1 From [Cube1]
I could solve it like this
Select {[Measures].[value]} on 0,
Iif(@.DimParameter = “Customer”,
{[Customer].allmembers} [Cube1],
{[Products].allmembers})
on 1 From
but the fields available would be “value” and “Customer” if the standard value of @.DimParameter is “Customer”
I also tried to create a set but I got the same results.
Is there a function in mdx that works like sql to define the names of the retrieved fields?
Select Customer as myDim Fom table1
Thanks
I tried to do that a while ago, and ended up creating a sproc in SQL Server that connects to Analysis Services using OPENQUERY.
Something like this:
create proc Example
@.dimension varchar(1000)
as
declare @.sql as varchar(8000)
declare @.mdx as varchar(2300)
set @.mdx = 'select {[Measures].[Unit Sales]} on columns, {##rows##} on rows from Sales'
set @.mdx = replace(@.mdx, '##rows##', @.dimension)
set @.sql ='SELECT * FROM OpenRowset(''MSOLAP.3'',''DATASOURCE=localhost; Initial Catalog=Foodmart 2000;'',
''' + @.mdx + ''')'
print @.sql
exec (@.sql)
If you're using SQL Server 2005 you'll need sp1 for this to work.
Hope this helps,
Santi
|||
Of course the Sql Server login must have the relevant permissions to execute the Stored Proc, and to create temporal tables.

sqlDifficulty Installing SQL Reporting Services on SBS 2003 Premium
been runninng into a lot of issues.
I have installed the SQL Reporting Services Components on the server and the
Visual Studio .Net components on my workstation. The goal behind installing
the components in the specified locations include: report authoring on my
workstation and finished reports available to all via the server.
The issues I have encountered include:
1) SQL Reporting Services activation error due to a conflict with
Sharepoint. I have removed Sharepoint from the server as outlined in KB
829114. After completion of the Sharepoint removal, I reinstalled SQL
Reporting Services and Reporting Services SP2 and was again informed that
activation was not possible due to a conflict with Sharepoint. How do I
work around this problem?
2) When accessing SQL Reporting Services from Visual Studio .Net on my
workstation, I can open an existing project but I can't view content within
the data sources tab. When trying to do so I get an error that states: "A
connection cannot be made to the database. Set and test the connection
string. Can't generate the SSPI context. How do I resolve this problem?
3) When creating a new SQL Reporting Services project using the Report
Wizard, the Shared Data Source field is blank and unavailable. Likewise,
attempts to access shared data sources using the Server Explorer window
result in the system prompting for a login when I try to select a listed in
the tree under my server. I am unable to login using our available network
or SQL User IDs.
My server is running SBS 2003 SP1 which includes SQL 2000 SP4. My
workstation is a member of the domain for which the server is the PDC.
Is my topology realistic and can my problems resolved or should I relocate
all components to the server? Even if located on the server, I will still
encounter the activation problem and need a work around.
Thanks for your help!Hello RS,
A few weeks ago I wanted to order SQL Server Reporting Services on a CD vom
Microsoft Direct. At that occasion, they told me that Reporting Services
simply are not supported on SBS. Seems like MS wants you to by the full SQL
Server product if you want to use RS. But please re-check that with your
contacts.
Greetings,
Stefan Falk|||Hi Stefan,
Sehr interesant. I initially posted my issue in the SBS forum and was
instructed by Microsoft to post in the reporting services forum. No mention
was made of non-compatability and I have noticed from the SBS forum that
other SBS users are running reporting services. You should be able to get a
copy of the software from one of the US Microsoft resellers.
Take care,
RS

Difficulty installing reporting services server
I am trying to install reporting services (development version) on a
Windows 2000 Server, and the setup will not allow me to install the
server components as it says "Internet Information Services 5.0 (IIS)
or later is either not installed, or it is configured in a way that is
incompatible with a Reporting Services installation."
Below is the rsstp2.log which I managed to find.
Reading it, it appears to be saying that the IWAM_machineName account
does "Not exist or [is] not enable[d]". (It also says the VS is not
installed, which is okay, as I don't want to install the designer
components, only the server).
The machine has SQL, IIS, and all the service packs that I think it
requires, and when I check the account IWAM_A-External _does_ exist,
and is _not_ disabled (i.e. it is enabled).
Does anyone know what security settings the account needs, or any
reason why it is telling me the account does not exist?
Also, does it matter what the password for the IWAM_machineName
account is? (Note: the password is the same in the metabase and for
the account).
Can anyone provide more detail on exactly what checks are performed
for the RSACCOUNTS prerequisite?
Thanks in advance.

Kavi -- did you just get the same on-screen message, which is rather
generic, or did you actually get the same prerequisite fail in your
log file (i.e. the '<Prerequisite
Name="AreRSAccountsValidInstalled"').
Can anyone provide more detail on what is checked for this
pre-requisite, as the account looks fine.

Have you made any progress? I am having the same issue with IIS and
IUSR/IWAM apparently configured correctly.
I am installing on a cluster and am using domain\IUSR... type accounts,
although the local accounts still exist. I am drawing a blank on all my
sources.

Difficulty in creating Time Dimension - SSAS
Hello all,
I am familiar with Analysis Services 2000 in which creating a time dimension is very easy.
In SSAS (2005) , i have a table in which there is field for DateTime which i want to use as time dimesion.
In time dimension wizard , it asks for the column for year , month etc (which is created by default in AS 2000) .
Since i have only one column having datetime datatype, how should i proceed
by creating heirarchy (year, month ,day - same as AS 2000).
Thanks,
deepti

You can create a stored procedure that populate a table with "time elements". See this example where I created a procedure that add rows into a table named CALSTD:
create procedure AddCalendar @.nYear int as
if not exists(select * from sysobjects where name='calstd')
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[CalStd](
[Data] [datetime],
[Data_lunii] [datetime],
[An] [smallint],
[Luna] [smallint],
[LunaAlfa] [char](15) ,
[Zi] [smallint],
[Saptamana] [smallint],
[Trimestru] [smallint],
[Zi_alfa] [char](10),
[Camp1] [char](10),
[Camp2] [char](10),
[Camp3] [char](10),
[Fel_zi] [char](1)
) ON [PRIMARY]
DECLARE @.I INT,@.DDATA DATETIME,@.DDATAL DATETIME,@.DDATAST DATETIME,@.NAN INT,@.nZi int,@.cZiChar char(10),@.cLunaAlfa char(15),@.nZileAn int
DELETE FROM CALSTD WHERE YEAR(DATA)=@.NAN
set @.nan=@.nyear
SET @.I=0
SET @.DDATAST=CONVERT(DATETIME,'01/01/'+RTRIM(STR(@.NAN)))
if (@.NAN%4)=0 and (@.nAn%400)<>0
SET @.nZileAn=366
else
set @.nZileAn=365
WHILE @.I<@.nZileAn
BEGIN
SET @.DDATA=DATEADD(DAY,@.i,@.DDATAST)
SET @.DDATAL=dateadd(day, -day(dateadd(month, 1, @.dData)), dateadd(month, 1, @.dData))
Set @.nZi=datepart(weekday,@.dData)
set @.cZiChar=(case when @.nZi=1 then 'Sunday'
when @.nZi=2 then 'Monday'
when @.nZi=3 then 'Tuesday'
when @.nZi=4 then 'Wednesday'
when @.nZi=5 then 'Thursday'
when @.nZi=6 then 'Friday'
else 'Saturday' end)
set @.cLunaAlfa=(case when datepart(month,@.dData)=1 then 'January'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=2 then 'February'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=3 then 'March'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=4 then 'April'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=5 then 'May'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=6 then 'June'

when datepart(month,@.dData)=9 then 'September'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=10 then 'Octomber'
when datepart(month,@.dData)=11 then 'November'
else 'December'
end)
INSERT INTO CALSTD(Data,Data_lunii,An,Luna,LunaAlfa,Zi,Saptamana,Trimestru,Zi_alfa,Camp1,Camp2,Camp3,Fel_zi)
VALUES(@.dData,@.dDatal,datepart(year,@.dData),datepart(month,@.dData),@.cLunaAlfa,datepart(day,@.dData),datepart(week,@.dData),datepart(quarter,@.dData),@.cZiChar,'','','','L')
SET @.I=@.I+1
END

|||Hi Deepti, I was in the same situation, but I found a simple way to achieve the Time Dimension Generation, please visit the following url, to know something about it. http://www.ssw.com.au/ssw/Standards/Rules/CreatingATimeDimensionIn10EasySteps.aspx
So for more information about sqlserver 2005, i'm building a blog with some resources at: http://grupohix.blogspot.com
