Difficulty installing reporting services server

G'day,
I am trying to install reporting services (development version) on a
Windows 2000 Server, and the setup will not allow me to install the
server components as it says "Internet Information Services 5.0 (IIS)
or later is either not installed, or it is configured in a way that is
incompatible with a Reporting Services installation."
Below is the rsstp2.log which I managed to find.
Reading it, it appears to be saying that the IWAM_machineName account
does "Not exist or [is] not enable[d]". (It also says the VS is not
installed, which is okay, as I don't want to install the designer
components, only the server).
The machine has SQL, IIS, and all the service packs that I think it
requires, and when I check the account IWAM_A-External _does_ exist,
and is _not_ disabled (i.e. it is enabled).
Does anyone know what security settings the account needs, or any
reason why it is telling me the account does not exist?
Also, does it matter what the password for the IWAM_machineName
account is? (Note: the password is the same in the metabase and for
the account).
Can anyone provide more detail on exactly what checks are performed
for the RSACCOUNTS prerequisite?

Kavi -- did you just get the same on-screen message, which is rather
generic, or did you actually get the same prerequisite fail in your
log file (i.e. the '<Prerequisite
Name="AreRSAccountsValidInstalled"').
Can anyone provide more detail on what is checked for this
pre-requisite, as the account looks fine.

Have you made any progress? I am having the same issue with IIS and
IUSR/IWAM apparently configured correctly.
I am installing on a cluster and am using domain\IUSR... type accounts,
although the local accounts still exist. I am drawing a blank on all my
sources.
